METROLOGY4HEALTH Launch Session

On the 10th of October, the Launch Session of the Metrology4Health Project took place at CATIM's premises in Lisbon. This session was attended by representatives of medical device suppliers, representatives of Hospital entities in the Region and representatives of Higher Education entities. The opening of the session was in charge of the Deputy General Director of CATIM, Dr. Nuno Araújo, followed by the presentation of the project, foreseen objectives and defined means to achieve them, carried out by Dr. Vânia Pacheco, from CATIM. Eng.º Faria Gomes, technical manager for LEEDE (Disinfection and Sterilization Equipment Test) and LEEME (Electrical Medical Equipment Test), presented the new technical and technological skills acquired by CATIM within the scope of the project in question, highlighting the initiatives/actions planned with the objective of transferring scientific and technological knowledge in these themes, namely, dissemination actions (seminars, workshops and opendays), protocols and partnerships with the three types of entities present in the session (medical device suppliers, hospital entities in the region and higher education entities), with the objective of diversifying communication channels and promoting the circulation of knowledge in a generalized way.
At the end of the session, there was a visit to the exhibition “Electromedicine and Sterilization: Calibration and Testing Equipment”.

CLOSING SESSION

PROGRAM
On the 16th of December, the Seminar dedicated to the Metrology4Health and AddValue@SME projects took place via online (TEAMS), running at CATIM's facilities in Lisbon.
This event was designed and prepared to take a face-to-face format, however, given the worsening of the epidemiological situation, the format of the session was changed, starting to be held exclusively in an online format.
This seminar allowed to mark two distinct moments of these projects, starting with the presentation of Eng. Faria Gomes, technical manager for the LEEDE (Disinfection and Sterilization Equipment Test) and LEEME (Electrical Medical Equipment Test) laboratories, under the theme "Metrology in Health as part of the life cycle of medical equipment", which culminated in in identifying the main results achieved with this project.
This was followed by the Session dedicated to the AddValue@SME project, which was in charge of Eng.º Diogo Miguel, Senior Technician at the Laboratory of Metrology Temperatures and Humidity of CATIM, with the presentation “Metrology applied to the Quantities Temperature and Humidity”, which included some videos so that the participants in the session could get to know the laboratory.
