Brief Description of the Project | Additive Manufacturing (FA) is a production technology that allows you to produce parts with complex shapes from digital data. In the current context of industrial competitiveness, FA is a technology that needs to be explored, as it can respond to market demands by generating quick solutions and allowing innovative products to be obtained, with mechanical and functional characteristics similar to those of obtained by definitive processes, with great freedom in terms of geometry and material selection, and with significant advantages in terms of flexibility, quality and production cost.

Within the scope of the FA, the relationship that exists between material and production process assumes special importance, as these factors are interdependent, unlike what occurs in the traditional method of material subtraction. The study and development of this relationship will allow the creation of new products, processes and equipment, being the basis of the entire mobilizing project. The structure and organization of the project itself are oriented towards simple reading and are linked to the development and valorization of results. Valuing research and development, in terms of providing equipment with national technology, materials for FA, engineering capabilities for high-performance components, inspection in accordance with standardization and reinforcement of a network of national infrastructures with global spectrum.

The Add.Additive project has as main objectives: to answer the major research and development questions that affect the material-process relationship in Additive Manufacturing methods, based on a set of co-promoters with knowledge and experience in the relevant technical-scientific domains and with national and international representation. It is intended to leverage the valorization of results in various sectors, through a coordinated strategy between industrial partners and research institutes and centers, with the knowledge generated being valued through activities of creation, dissemination, transfer, use and incorporation of technology based on three pillars: science and technological development; internalization of knowledge and technology by borrowers; and use of them by potential end users.
